Had lunch at Genting coffee shop with Meow before we went to Gurney Plaza. After King Kong (5pm show) with YT, her bro and Ms Heng at GSC, Meow & I went for dinner at Winter Warmers. KNS, waited 45 mins for my tuna cracker - waitress didn't jot down - she asked me twice, idiot. We finished dinner at 10.30pm.

1.5 hours later, Roger called, asked to join him n Bruce n S'pore friends to SS, Meow didn't wanna go, he fetched me n YT, dropped us at near City Bayview, we walked there.
SS till 2.30am, then walked to Jaya (Mamak). Rog dropped me while Bruce dropped YT, supposed other way coz Rog likes YT ma.

Toilet Tips/Etiquettes

Following previous post on Public toilet, here are some tips/etiquettes to share with you ladies when using Public / Shared toilet.

1. Scan around if there's any cables or suspicious hidden camera / broken window/opened ceiling.

2. Don't use the front portion of the toilet roll provided. Tear away at least those exposed / probably a long ruler's length. You never know whose dirty hand touched those. Probably got 'phee sai' on it (nose shit).

3. This applies to Toilet Bowls - Avoid sitting on the cover seat. Wipe clean first if you have to (as if it's gonna be clean - but u dun have other choice, squat on the bowl ? Duh ! No wonder the shoe marks!) Practise "The Stance" position…it comes in handy most of the time. As most of us wear heels, it's a challenge to pee in that position.. esp. if you have a full bladder. Duh !

4. Pick up whatever rubbish / tissue u dropped.

5. Don't leave your 'Yee Ma Kan' (Sanitary Pad - SP) on display. Wrap it and throw in the SP bin/rubbish bin. I am not interested to know how much blood u lost.

6. Be sure to FLUSH away your 'output' or whatever stuff before you open the door. Kanasai, it's really gross when you find some stuff / whole loads of tissue floating ! Yuck ! Of coz can't blame those toilets with slow piping system…the water fills in so slow…but in my office it's fast yet….sigh I still see choco cakes floating. Duh !

7. Try to keep clean for next user. It's sickening to see pee all over the seat or dirty shoe marks on it.

But believe me, there are uncivilised ppl in my company. Can't believe these are women ! I can see problem in Num 4, 5, 6 & 7 almost every day. And this ppl might just be your superiour or manager.

Public Restroom

Receive this from my aunt, so funny...if you wonder what is "The Stance" position, it's some sort like Chinese Kung Fu where you 'chatt ma' (cantonese) - watch Jackie Chan's old movies ? He always kena punished in that position, with few Joss sticks under / in btwn his legs....yep....guys are so lucky to be able to pee standing and no need tissues.

Have fun reading. Cheers.

My mother was a fanatic about public restrooms.
When I was a little girl, she'd take me into the stall,
show me how to wad up toilet paper and wipe the
seat. Then she'd carefully lay strips of toilet paper
to cover the seat. Finally, she'd instruct, "Never,
NEVER sit on a public toilet seat." Then she'd
demonstrate "The Stance," which consisted of
balancing over the toilet in a sitting position without
actually letting any of your flesh make contact
with the toilet seat. That was a long time ago. Now, in my "more mature"
years, "The Stance" is excruciatingly difficult to maintain. When you have to visit a public bathroom, you usually
find a line of waiting women, so you smile politely and
take your place. Once it's your turn, you check for feet
under the stall doors. Every stall is occupied. Finally,
a door opens and you dash in desparately, nearly
knocking down the poor woman leaving the stall. You
get in to find the door won't latch, but at this point, it
doesn't matter. The dispenser for the modern "seat covers" (invented
by someone's mother, no doubt) is handy, but empty.
You would hang your purse on the door hook, if there
(door hooks all been unscrewed and stolen by ‘you know who’)
were one, but there isn't - so you carefully but quickly
drape it around your neck, (Mom would turn over in
her grave if you put it on the FLOOR!), yank down your
pants, and assume "The Stance." In this position your aging,
toneless thigh muscles begin to shake. You'd love to sit down,
but you certainly hadn't taken time to wipe the seat or lay toilet
paper on it, so you hold "The Stance." To take your mind off your trembling thighs, you reach
for what you discover to be the empty toilet paper dispenser.
In your mind, you can hear your mother's voice saying,
"Honey, if you had tried to clean the seat, you would have KNOWN
there was no toilet paper!" Your thighs shake more. You remember the tiny tissue that you blew your nose on
yesterday - the one that's still in your purse. That would have
to do. You crumple it in the puffiest way possible. It is still smaller
than your thumbnail. Someone pushes open your stall door because
the latch doesn't work. The door hits your purse, which is hanging
around your neck in front of your chest, and you and your
purse topple backward against the tank of the toilet. "Occupied!"
you scream, as you reach for the door, dropping your precious,
tiny, crumpled tissue in a puddle on the floor, lose your footing
altogether, and slide down directly onto the TOILET SEAT. It is
wet of course. You bolt up, knowing all too well that it's too late. Your bare
bottom has made contact with every imaginable germ and
life form on the uncovered seat because YOU never laid
down toilet paper - not that there was any, even if you had
taken time to try. You know that your mother would be utterly
appalled if she knew, because, you're certain, her bare bottom
never touched a public toilet seat because, "Frankly, dear, you
just don't KNOW what kind of diseases you could get." By this time, the automatic sensor on the back of the toilet
is so confused that it flushes, propelling a stream of water
like a firehose that somehow sucks everything down with
such force that you grab onto the toilet paper dispenser for
fear of being dragged in too. At that point, you give up. You're soaked by the spewing water and the wet toilet seat.
You're exhausted. You try to wipe with a gum wrapper you
found in your pocket and then slink out inconspicuously to
the sinks. You can't figure out how to operate the faucets
with the automatic sensors, so you wipe your hands with
spit and a dry paper towel and walk past the line of women,
still waiting. You are no longer able to smile politely to them. A kind soul at the very end of the line points out a piece of
toilet paper trailing from your shoe. (Where was that when
you NEEDED it??) You yank the paper from your shoe, plunk
it into the woman's hand and tell her warmly, "Here, you just
might need this." As you exit, you spot your hubby, who has long since
entered, used and left the men's restroom. Annoyed, he asks,
"What took you so long, and why is your purse hanging around
your neck?"
. . .This is dedicated to women everywhere who deal with a
public restroom (rest??? you've got to be kidding!!). It finally
explains to the men what really does take us so long. It also
answers their other commonly asked question about why
women go to the restroom in pairs. It's so the other gal can
hold the door, hang onto your purse and hand you Kleenex
under the door.

SPCA Petition - pls help

Animal Lovers or not, please Support SPCA or sign the Petition
It only takes about 1 minute of your time. Thanks !

Please sign the SPCA petition at http://www.spca.org.my/. As you may be aware, the SPCA started a petition to the prime minster to raise the cruelty fine from RM200 to a significantly higher fine of around RM10,000.00. The petition, which included the signatures of supporters, was supposed to be handed to the prime minister in October 2004. However, this has not happened, as we only managed to raise 20,000 signatures. Due to the insufficient number of signatures collected during the first phase of this petition, the SPCA is entering a second phase in hope to collect at least 100,000 signatures locally and internationally.

Therefore, we are now entering a phase II stage of the petition whereby we would like you to join our effort for this cause. Please download the petition forms. Kindly photocopy it and distribute it for signatures to be collected. The more names we have, the better.
On behalf of the animals, thank you very much for your support.

Lazy to work

Note - Present

I am supposed to log on to work since I was on leave on Fri for my uncle's funeral, but I am just too lazy n tired.

I guess there's probably 200 mails waiting in my mailbox and if I log on now, I might ended up checking thru the 'sampah' and 'shits' till 5am or 6am like what I did on Thurs. Sigh...so, I better get my mind some rest now.

7th July
On friday Everything went well, dad broke down, which took me by surprise. I let Sue (my cousin) comfort him. I am not good at consoling / comforting family members. If friends, it comes easily for u, I dunno why but I just couldn't explain ler.

We had lunch with Mako and her husband's side family at Four Season Tea House. Dad and Koko also joined. Sako's tummy wasn't good so she went back first. After that, Koko n Dad had big curry puff at mamak stall along the road. I didn't eat, already full. Koko dropped me home coz dad wanna service his car's air-cond...just when about to reach home, I realised I didn't bring my home keys with me coz I didn't bring my handbag...luckily Sako was home, went to borrow her keys. Barely 5 mins I reached, Dad was home coz the serviceguy was busy. He went out again after shower.

I walked Max to do his business and then showered. Wanted to rest / nap but dun feel like wasting the day, so I had the TV on, surfing btwn Channel 50 - 52 while I browsed the newspapers. Had bihun and ang tau sar which I tah pao-ed from funeral on Tues nite, still ok, can eat, so bettter dun waste. 6pm, walked Max again before I shower.

8pm, called Meow, he told me he has taken dinner...damn, I waited for nothing. I was lazy to get any food, so I went online while listening to old Mp3 songs...12am, ok very hungry, so I had one mee in my mug. Told Meow I very sien, dun wanna go out....I planned to watch VCD, turn on the PC...barely a min later, I turned it off...eyes too tired. Fine...look around...saw 'Heat' magazine dated Apr 2005...ok...just browse a while...duh...ended up finished reading the whole magazine, so I slept around 3.30am :P

Insensitve Doc

Note - Present

My uncle (first aunt's hubby) passed away on Monday, 3rd July 10.30pm due to heart failure.

He was admitted to GH, 23 Jun. He passed out and fractured his thigh. At the age of 69, his diabetic level was very high, his eyesight wasn't good (he has cataract and my dad suspected my uncle suffered mild stroke when he went to massage for him) but doc said nothing of that. It was unfortunate that later we learnt my uncle stopped his medication, hence his condition worsen. My aunt and her husband had long been separated but they stay in the same house for the sake of their children. They did not check whether he took his medicine on time, but it's not the time to blame anyone now.

It was real bad that my uncle's big sister was a very fussy and bossy lady. She was so demanding and ordering nurses to do this n that, asking them to let my uncle do physio (but they just put screw inside ma, where can do so soon?)...they 'beh shiok' and the doc asked for my uncle to be discharged just one week after he was admitted. The doc had the nerves to say "U wanna play, I play with u la"
As a doc, how can he uttered such thing? And forced a patient to be discharged when he still need medical attention? Too bad my aunt and cousin didn't record it.

They let let my uncle stay for another two days and discharged on Sun, 2nd July instead of Fri.

I didn't know my uncle was discharged and went to look for him, saw his name for Bed Num 1, but there was another uncle staring back at me...I thought maybe another side...so Meow and I went walking from one end to another, no sight of my uncle. Finally I asked a nurse, she checked and told me he was discharged in the morning.
I asked "how come his name still there?" to which she replied "Oh, today our clerk not working, so no one update it yet".
Walau eh...like that also can ? Sunday clerk not in, so no need to update? I thought it should be updated as soon as a patient leave and comes in.
Nevermind, no time for that...so I called my Aunt (Mako), she said my uncle is at nursing home but she was about to go dinner with her in-laws (uncle's sisters). Meow and I wanted to join so that we could follow them back to nursing home later coz we dunno where it was. But there's wasn't any parking space, I sms-ed Mako telling her would visit my uncle next week.

So, Monday nite, I was working....suddenly, 9.40pm, dad called me asked where I was, he said my uncle was in serious condition. I was really shocked coz I thought he was getting better. I quickly send out my report and changed. But dad called back, asked me to go home feed dogs first coz he didn't get to go home and house was in the dark. He told me, they had called for the ambulance. I quickly rushed home to attend to my dogs...alamak, Maxed pooed in the house. Meow helped me to walk him while I feed the rest. After I was done, and in the car to GH, I called dad, he gave me the bad news. I was upset that I didn't get to see my uncle. Last Wed I went after work but the visiting hours was till 7.30pm and GH very strict.

Later I found out that GH did not give my uncle any of his diabetic pills. He was only given pain killers. He had some pain and difficulty on Sunday noon. My aunt had earlier asked the nurse how come the medication given (to take home) is different from those he took during hospitalisation. The nurse said dunno. Seeing that he wasn't given any pills for his diabetic problem, they went back to take my uncle's old medicine and let him take some. He was then much better.

Then Monday...he was having complication and my dad suggested to call the ambulance. They try to resuscitate my uncle in the ambulance, he was semi-conscious, when reached GH, they said they did their best, but my uncle was pronounced dead at 10.30pm.

I am just warning anyone receiving medical attention in Pg GH, there are snobbish and insensitive doctor / nurses there. As my aunt / uncle aren't wealthy, they cannot afford private hospitals...but does that mean poor / average ppl deserve such treatment ? Isn't this negligence of the hospital ?

May God bless my uncle's soul. Funeral on Fri. I will be on leave again.
